Create a mid-funnel video and social campaign that ladders up to already-established “Welcome to Now” campaign. A.K.A. bring a pie-in-the-sky concept down to earth a little bit for a commercial audience.

Dell Technologies + Tourists

The first campaign from VML was called “Dell Technologies + Tourists” and told the story of coral reef conservation through tourist photos gathered and analyzed by AI.

Our job was to elaborate on the story using the real-life use-cases of our products. Specifically, intelligent laptops, storage devices and servers. So we created three video spots, along with a slew of social and digital assets, to extend our story across those three product pillars. This production took place in Miami and the Bahamas and was an incredible experience.

Dell Technologies + Shelves

The next campaign was dubbed “Shelves” and showed how AI can keep shelves stocked and customers happy.

So, we dug a little deeper and told the story of an ice cream brand’s supply chain from three different points: the farm, the manufacturer and the grocer. Each speaking to a different product pillar, like we did with “Tourists.” This production took place in Copenhagen, Denmark and was an absolute peak career experience.

I know what you’re thinking. Instagram Reels… for a commercial campaign? Is that the right medium? Is that where our audience is? Probably not! But, the powers that be wanted what they wanted. So, we made them as Insta-friendly and memorable as we could get away with. When in doubt, a little humor never hurts.
